Moosefest! I am making a moose for the Bennington Vermont Moosefest 2009. The moose will be licking a giant double scoop ice cream cone. The Moosefest website is HERE so check it out.

This is the day the Moose arrived from the company that made it.

Adding pieces when needed and then carving away with a large sharp kitchen knife

Home made hot wire cutter made from a train transformer to cut a bunch of strips

These strips are for the cone detail

Adding the strips to the cone with compound and some nails

compound coating the foam.

And then fiberglass! Yum.

Resin.

Now moving on to the base to make a spot for the icecream cone. Styrofoam cut to shape.

Test fitting

Then compound coating.

Second coat of compound and then sanding.

Then fiberglass over the compound.

Next this big guy needs a tongue.
